Wish you Happy Tamil New Year. I wished ‘Happy Tamil New Year’ in Tamil  to peoples I called and peoples who called me. But most of them wished back the same in English. Enna kodhuma sir idhu. Tamil Vaalga.

+91 94883 27500. This is my new number. If you read my two previous posts, you will know, I lost my phone. This is just temporary one. Call me to this until I get my old number. That’s possible after May 2nd, when I reach Tamil Nadu completing this present 20 day Trip to North India.

This is new project assigned to me by myself. Like this name? I like it because I loved my Nokia Xpress Music Mobile. Yesterday I lost it. Now you know why I named it Xpress. I am part time website designer. Most of the website I design is normal static page sites which requires constant editing of contents. Actually I accept projects keeping in mind I’m not a full time Web Developer. Normally it takes much time to design the catchy dynamic pages with lot of scripts in it, at least for me.

Initially I used to design the sites with just HTML and CSS. I was very comfortable with it and happy to do it. There came the villain. Clients used to call me for every additions and modification in the content. Although it is simple and easy, I felt it as useless and waste of time to edit the html files again and again. To avoid this annoying I started making the websites with Open Source Content Management Systems. In fact I hate to use others work, have to do it some times when there is no other way. It also consumes some time to get the knowledge of the target CMS.

Recently I felt, why I have to use the others work, when I am capable of doing my own. I can list out numerous advantages on it. I am aware it consumes more time than using and learning others available work. I am going to count on satisfaction after completion.

This is one reason. I got another. I can call that as inspiration. I am using Windows Live Writer for uploading contents to my blogs. I feel editing and uploading contents this way is lot more easier than doing through administration pages comes with CMS. So if I design application of that sort and give it to clients I can avoid the annoying. But this is long term objective of this project. Here are the objectives/requirements for the initial version of Xpress CMS.

1. Simple and Understandable Administrative Panel
2. User Authentication.
3. Theme/Template Selection
4. Light Weight. Must occupy lesser space.
5. XML-RPC implementation (for writer application)

I planned to do this project using PHP and MySQL, frontrunners in open source development. Going to use whatever latest technologies strikes my mind, not forgetting the objectives.

I am managing the code with Google Codes. If you want to contribute or take part in this project, you are always welcome. I initiated this, but I don’t want it to be all mine. Contributors will get their respective credits. If you participate, it is not mine, it is ours.

Today is a sad day because I lost my mobile phone. Its Nokia 5300 Xpress Music. I must tell the story, I can’t bear that pain inside me. Here it goes. I was travelling from Trichy to Jalandhar by Andhaman Express. Yesterday, before sleeping on upper berth, I kept my mobile adjacent to me, hiding it actually and slept. As I always do, I over slept. Some bastard took it while I was sleeping. Today morning, after waking up, searched all over my coupe, I can’t find it. I lost my soul. Actually it was taken away from me. I felt like one of my close relation is dead.

Yesterday night itself battery is totally down. so i can’t call and search. I can’t do anything there other than scolding the unknown person, who took it, with whatever comes to mind and mouth. After I reached the guest house, where I am staying in Jalandhar, called my own number. The same bastard attended the call and spoke. When enquired, he told he was in Jammu. When I told him that was my mobile he disconnected and switched off.

Since I am in other state. I can’t even complain it to police. Even if I complain it may change my schedule of stay here. All I did was I locked my mobile number so that I can retain the balance after getting other SIM card with same number.

Instead of living this way, those people can earn by begging the beggars. Lot comes to my mind. To maintain decency I am not writing all those here. Nothing will bring my phone back to me anyway. Engirundhaaaaalum vaaallgaaaaaaaaaa..

It is a very glad news for me that the famous Japanese Manga series NARUTO is going to be broadcasted in Cartoon Network(India). This is one of my very very favorite cartoons. I read 442nd episode of this series just few minutes before. When I am changing TV channels, I came across this happy news “Naruto is coming on Cartoon Network from April 13th”. Eagerly waiting to see the English version of the Naruto. I already watched the series in Japanese Language. Even got all the episodes in Japanese language till date in DVD’s. I applied for BSNL’s Junior Telecom Officer posts which got some 3000+ vacancies. The requirements for applying is

1. Neatly typed application form as in provided format
2. Three passport sized photographs out of which one must be pasted in the application form and duly attested.
3. Two self addressed office envelopes. Each one for sending back acknowledgement and Hall Ticket(for written exam) by them.
4. DD for Rs.750/- in favor of BSNL Circle Authority.

The above mentioned four things must be sent by registered post to respective BSNL telecom circle head office.

Guess What mistake I probably did. The thing is I don’t know the meaning of the word “duly” at that time. Instead of duly attesting the photo in the application form I self attested and sent it..

Even two of my friends called me to confirm their doubts about the same issue(pity! they too don’t know the meaning) before posting it. Since I self attested mine I suggested them to do so. They did and sent the applications to head office. In fact I was lazy to refer and correct.

Today one of that friend called me and informed me about this mistake we did after verifying with the BSNL authorities. I feel guilty now for ruining the opportunity for myself and peoples who believed in me because of wrong assumption and laziness. This situation may be avoided if I referred it to someone.

I got two options now.

1. Believe in luck and wait for their positive reply(very rarely works for me).
2. Send the application form again. There is a possibility of application rejection due to duplicate entries, only two days left for deadline and I have to spend extra money

I think second option is worth choosing. Valuable lessons comes with high price tag.

The book revolves around the three guys(hari, ryan and alok) who got into IIT. This book is written in hari’s perspective. Hari is none other than author himself. But it is not an auto biography. Inspired by his own life, author has given the book after adding some spices.

Must read book for students and ex-students. Throughout reading I was smiling, not because the book is funny, every events specified in this book is someway or other close to my own college days and reminded of some happy and funny moments. Three guys hari, ryan and alok will not go out of mind even months after finishing the book. I can map all the characters and situation in the book with one in my college. Say ryan for ajmal, hari for nawaz and alok for me, but not exactly as in the book. This is just one combination. Exactly to say our set consists of five peoples(Ajmal, Balaji, Nawaz, Niaz and me).

We had every enjoyment, breaking the barriers of rules and regulations in our college. Nawaz and I took OD leave for average of 50 days in 90 days semester. If we both attend the classes, lecturers will see us like aliens. Stop Am I writing my auto-biography??
