Uncompleted Journey

March 30th, 2009 Jeega 2 comments

Turning side by side, sweeping night time breeze with head

Raging Thoughts, felt like in middle of herd

Looking hastily, started to lose cool

Caught glimpse of a girl nearby, complimenting her with just a word cute will reserve a place in hell

Bus-stand becoming heaven, can wait more for bus to arrive

Pounding heart, pumping more blood to parts

Sulking rage, cursed the driver who drove in the bus even before I see her face

Amazing coincidence, she stepping before me inside the bus

Hurrying foots, dont wanted to give the opportunity to follow her to others

Flattering hair smell, have to start again the historical argument between lord siva and nakkirar

Her turning back casually, felt small bursts deep inside my heart

Probably Keralite, bringing my eyes more light and delight

She moving forward, cant proceed more coz my eyes stuck with my seat

Adjusting back-rest, cursed the concept of seating in ascending order

Realizing tired, soothing cushion fought and forced me to sleep

Feeling sunlight, my quick search for her inside the bus failed

Wondering why, why her thoughts still occupy space in my mind

Note: This is pure work of fiction. nothing to do with my real life (Precautionary Measures)

Author : Janet Dailey
Genre: Romance Fiction
Year Released: 1981
Publisher: Silhouette Books
ISBN: 0-671-73693-0

I borrowed this book from a local lending library to read while travelling from Trichy to Chennai. It was a short one day trip. I did not wanted to half read the book, as I always do, so I choose a short novel. If I put it in my bookshelf, half read, I even forget to return it to library, which happened many times.

This short novel is all about extraordinary beautiful blond lady Tamara James, a bookkeeper in Signet Machines and Masculine Bickford Rutledge, chief of Taylor Business Machines. Due to her mom’s suffering, she had borrowed twenty thousand dollars from the company without anyone’s permission, hoping she can repay it shortly and silently. But his family situation, made her financially more unstable. In this situation, Bick acquires Signet Machines, which made tamara’s nerves stiff, frightened about her job if new owners found about’ the money from accounting files.

Surprisingly, Brick wants her at first sight and tries to flatter her. She refuses all his wooing. After sometimes, Brick came to know about the money. Taking advantage of her poverty he forces her to marry him. He didn’t have to marry her to attain her. Even after knowing his interest on her is not his soul, she accepts the offer because she doesn’t have any alternative other than saying yes.

He doubts her all the time and she gets her meager respect only when in bed. Bored of his behavior she gets out of his house and lives in someplace where he could not find her. In Four months of her absence, he realizes he is in love with her. He finds her and confesses he can’t live without her. The rest no need to specify. They lived happily ever after.

If you have free four to five hours it is worth reading this book, rich in vocabulary and flawless plot.

100 – First encounter

March 17th, 2009 Jeega No comments

This event happened some five or six months afore. Suddenly, it came to mind and thought of writing it as a blog post.

I was working late in office. Since production was busy that time, We, staffs in office,  decided to work for two shifts. The office is located in residential area surrounded by houses conveniently spaced. At the back side of factory, a house is there. The two building is separated by a compound wall. our workshop section is located  just 3 to 4 meters from our compound wall. Our machinist was working in there generating noises with drill press and welding machine.

Other peoples were working in Production section and Assembly section which is little far from the Workshop. I was doing something in Design Section adjacent to production area. Everyone was concentrated towards their work. Suddenly, a loud sound made all of us run towards workshop. We were in panic, suspected of machinist being subjected to accident.

For god sake, nothing happened to him and realized the sound came from the house backside. The roof of the room, in the house, adjacent to the compound wall is covered by asbestos and that was disoriented. Fire was visible from inside the house. We rushed in, jumping over the compound and hurriedly watched through the dormer window and whatever openings in the house, eager to know about the cause. Fortunately, no one is inside the house and heard from neighbors that owners went for vacation.

We thought it as gas cylinder explosion and fire was spreading to the nearby rooms. We tried to control it by routing water from our company. We cant control it. So, I called 100 from my mobile. The call was responsibly answered and they took note of the location. Within the next 10 minutes a patrol of 10 to 15 police men along with the fire fighting equipments reached the spot. They were also responsible enough to call me twice before their arrival, enquiring about the status.

The fire was neutralized by them and the cause was confirmed as gas cylinder blast and shockingly another new cylinder was there nearby the blasted cylinder. If that was subjected to fire little more, that would have also blasted. If the blast was little severe our company might be affected. Then they took control of the house and continued with their procedures and requested civilians to leave.

I never imagined such promptness from them. We left the office without finishing our intended work.  For a week from that incident we avoided having late night shifts.

Jeyaganesh supports Earth Hour

HBO supports Earth Hour, Discovery supports Earth Hour, Aamir supports Earth Hour, why not me. Go to “ http://www.earthhour.org/news/in:en“ to know more about earth hour (if you don’t know). It’s really a good concept to conduct such awareness campaign on climate change and global warming. These two issues pose major threat for our future generations. Our Indian government is doing its part by cutting the power for two hours every day in the name of power crisis. You can track the root for this crisis as climate change. One can ask what one hour of voluntary power cut can contribute to climate change. Environmentally, answer in null. But psychologically, it impacts in minds of the people, not to pollute, if they participate. Following are some suggestions, which by following one can also positively contribute in fight against climate change,

1) Travel by sharing or public transport. By this way we can reduce as much vehicle emissions as possible and can save oil resources for future generations.Every drop you save today will help your grandsons or great great grandsons. Its sad that oil resources take hundreds of years to replenish. Vehicle emission contributes 30% to the climate change.

2) Advice your neighbours not to use inefficient way of heating for cooking purposes. Some of the inefficient ways are cooking by burning wood, burning coal, etc.

3) Avoid using in-efficient ways of lighting. Try to use CFL bulbs and fluorescent tubes rather than candescent lamps, even though its comparatively costlier

4) Instead of using electric water heaters use solar water heaters.

5) Use solar panels for lighting purposes, which stores power in day time and uses that power in night times. Can reduce lot of power costs.

Many more ways are there but most of that are beyond individuals capability. First step before starting, one must not think how I alone can do this big thing. If you watched Evan Almighty, you may know “One Act of random kindness (ARK) at a time”, similar to that, “One Act of random Contribution at a time” can make this big thing happen.
