ARR’s Tribute to India

(post for February 23rd, 2009)

Hearty congratulations to ARR, Resul Pookutty and Gulzhar for bringing home the most expected Oscars. Finally, India’s really really long longing for an Oscar is realized. These Oscars were not just recognition for these three people; it means lot more for our country. It will definitely raise the hopes of every people associated with Indian Film Industry and further elicit the talent within them. Hope this will put an end to the waste-of-time masala movies. Unbelievable eight Oscar for the Slumdog millionaire is really unbelievable. vikas swarup might had never imagined this much acclaim, while writing Q&A – the source of Slumdog, nor Boyle while directing.

Apart from being a luxurious party night for celebrities, it is once in a lifetime opportunity for those kids from slums and for pinky sonkar who gave Megan Mylan the Oscar without her knowledge. Every credit goes to Boyle and Fox Searchlight (sponsors for the crew of Slumdog millionaire to Kodak theatre).

The award stage is so special because that is the place where actors can’t act while receiving the award. Examples are the emotional moments from the award receivers. Rahman’s “Yellaa pugalum Iraivanukke” and “Meri maa hein” and Resul’s “Nyaan keralathukku kondu varum Maha sivarathiri sammanamakkum” are really really heart touching phrases in their mother tongue. We must feel very proud to have them here in INDIA.

I got goose bumps for every “The Oscars goes to..” I have to say how I am feeling now; I want to go out to the streets and yell out “JAI HOOOOOOOO INDIAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA” and eager to watch the film Slumdog Millionaire.

My First Step towards Poetry

New Day

Sleeping in the bed, felt knockings inside my head
Angels Fading from the sight, i can see Daemons waiting to fight
After wresting with my body, stopped the timepiece singing melody
still lethargic, but charmness of shining sun is fantastic
yet another day is seeded, god! give me energy which i needed

This is my first in English. I wont call it as a poem, still long way to go for that. Just a piece of rhyme which extracted a hour from my valuable time.

Happy Valentine’s Day for those who dwell in love. And all the best for those who still stuttering to propose. Even though I don’t know much about love, I can visualize the proposal jitters. Hurry, don’t miss this once in a year opportunity. By the way, I am still single, proposals are welcome. Offers are considered in first come first serve basis (just kidding…)

RAFA is true Spanish Armada

Wonderful, Amazing, Spectacular, Awe-inspiring, Splendid, Fabulous, Stunning, Excellent, Marvelous, Magnificent, Tremendous, Fantastic, Incredible and what else I can say about the match between RAFAEL NADAL and ROGER FEDERER at Australian Open 2009 final today, fight between Power and Elegance. One of the emotional matches I have ever seen. Wonderful 5 set victory for Rafael, making the predictions of Sampras, McEnroe and Becker fail. Nadal once again proved he is the true rival for Federer. Wondering, how a man after playing a 5 hour 14 minutes match, able to stand for another 4+ hours. He got immense stamina; no other tennis player can match. Truly I wanted Federer to win, putting aside my admiration to Rafa. Got tears out of my eyes without knowledge, after seeing Federer cry on stage. What an emotional person he is. I can imagine, how a man feels after beaten by a same person, three times in a row, this to in very important matches. Better luck next time Fed. Rafa, please give him way to zenith.
